Emmaus Fall Walks Blog – 2022

Fall Walks to Emmaus are coming!

It’s been a while since our last blog, but it’s time to get started because Emmaus is coming!!!!

If you have been on a Walk to Emmaus you are very familiar with the Walk to Emmaus bible verse. By studying this verse we see what a very special time these pilgrims had with their Savior on the road to Emmaus.

Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;

Luke 24:13:15

Do you remember your Walk experience and what a growth time it was? A special time with your Savior? It’s time to prayerfully consider sponsoring. Who do you know that could benefit from an Emmaus experience? It’s not too early. This year the Greater Indianapolis Area Emmaus has Fall Walks scheduled for:

• The Women’s Walk #193 is September 29th to October 2nd

• The Men’s Walk #194 is October 6th to 9th

The walks will again be held at the Indiana Conference and Training Center in Fortville, Indiana. The lay directors for the Walks are Margie Nichols and Bob Sabo. You can reach out to either of the Lay Directors with questions. Margie’s email is: [email protected]  Bob’s email is: [email protected].

Pilgrim applications are available on IndyEmmaus.org, both electronic and pdf forms. We have Save the Date cards available for printing and sharing with those around you. Please print them and spread them around your church. Here is the link: https://indyemmaus.org/save-the-date/. Feel free to contact me, Jannell Gunn, if you need cards printed ([email protected] or 317-989-5892).

Bob and Margie are currently calling people to fill their teams. Has it been awhile since you were contacted to work a walk? If so, it may be that the Community Team Coordinator has outdated information. Please fill out a new Team sheet by going to https://indyemmaus.org/team-sign-up/. There are options to fill out a sheet electronically or print out a form and mail it in. Being on team is the closest you will come to being on a Walk to Emmaus again. As part of team you will attend team meetings and preview all of the talks. For me being on team was bringing Emmaus to others and was actually more fulfilling then being on the Walk. Can you imagine a better experience then the Walk?
